Collectibles in Duskfade
Hearts, Star Cores, Tailord's kittens, Arpeggio's boxes, cards, Wally, and ingots — after Grapple and Pendulum.
Duskfade hides its 100% inside curiosity, not an XP grind. Weird Beluga places currencies, health, Temporal Energy, and trophy objects on ledges that look decorative until you own the next verb. There is no mini-map. Landmarks, Cuckoo hints, and the Tick Town teleporter are the navigation. This guide names every category confirmed at launch — not fake pin coordinates that would rot after a patch.
Pair it with the trophies list so you know which Golds these objects feed, the story walkthrough for region order, and the collectibles tracker when you want checkboxes. Demo hunters can still use the demo walkthrough for the opening slice; retail progress does not carry over.
Three-pass habit (the whole game)
Pass one — story. Grab hearts, shards, and shop stock that sit on your feet. Leave orange-crystal rooms, distant rails, and fleeing kittens. Pass two — verbs. After Grapple, glide, rails, and Pendulum (end of the Clockwork Academy), reverse through Tick Town, Ezarus Forest, Lantern Port, and the Academy. Pass three — credits cleanup. Wally, remaining cards, Rainbow Ingots, Traveler stock, and stubborn music boxes.
If a wall feels empty, you are early, not lost. That is the design, not a bug.
Star Shards and Upgrade Gears
Star Shards drop from crates, breakables, and many enemies. They fund Upgrade Gears trees for Minutero, mobility, and Cuckoo. Break every prop when you enter a room. Spend mobility before vanity damage so later biomes do not punish you for a pretty combo that cannot reach a rail.
Shards also buy Traveler objects for Gold Shopaholic and Tailord dyes. Do not empty the wallet on cosmetics before health and Temporal Energy are maxed — see Rainbow Ingots for the same currency fight.
Clock Heart Pieces and Star Core Fragments
Clock Heart Pieces raise maximum health. The demo still teaches the three-piece container; the full campaign hides more pieces across later biomes. Gold A Clock Heart Piece a Day… wants the bar maxed, not a single container. Route notes live on the heart pieces page.
Star Core Fragments are the energy analogue. They max Temporal Energy for Gold Advanced Clockmaking and keep gadget uptime honest. Treat cores like hearts: optional ledges, often gated by Pendulum or a rail you unlock two spokes later.
Tailord’s kittens and yarn
Catching all of Tailord’s kittens is Gold Come Here Right Meow and the yarn sink for extra outfits. Kittens bolt in a fairly straight line — drop from above or cut the angle. Behind an orange wall: Pendulum. On a sky rail: Grapple or glide. Yarn is not Star Shards. Tailord sells clothes; the Traveler does not.
Music boxes, cards, Rainbow Ingots
Music boxes go back to Arpeggio (caves Bronze Can I Get Your Autograph?, Gold Master of Melody). Boxes sit on “too pretty to loot” ledges.
Cards complete Gold Collector. Many live in chests Minutero opens — the sword is the key. Mark rooms that felt too empty and return after the Tower.
Rainbow Ingots complete Gold The Most Beautiful Sword in the Land. Buy the cheap Tick Town shop ingot near the teleporter, then sweep the world. They feed Minutero skins at the Inn-side anvil once Grapple exists. Details: Rainbow Ingots.
Wally, flasks, Void echoes
Wally hides in every region for Bronze No Peeking! — a Where’s Wally cameo on high shelves and silly corners. Check the tracker after each biome instead of screenshotting every bush.
Multicoloured Flasks / Flasks of Dye feed Tailord recolours such as World Hopper and Cloudy vendors. They are not health potions; potions still heal mid-adventure from chests and drops.
Void-like echoes pause combat for Master Clockmaker lore. Activate them even when you are in a hurry — they sync with Clock Tower lore and do not usually consume a trophy slot of their own.
Where categories cluster
Tick Town is the turn-in hub: Tailord, Traveler, Palette, Cloudie pots. Ezarus Forest teaches canopy Grapple you cannot use yet. The Clockwork Academy gates Pendulum and Tailord’s escape. Lantern Port is vertical tropical delayed loot. Celestial Kingdom, Deepthorne, and Chronos Aeternum are the late secret-heavy spokes named in launch roundups. Geography: biomes. People: NPCs.
Single-player only. There are no cheat codes and no “203 node trainer.” If a site sells a numbered ingot map the week after launch, treat it as perishable. This wiki will add a coordinate list only when community pins stay stable across patches — until then, categories plus verbs beat fake pins.

Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers from the full campaign, trophies, and remaining demo slice.
How many Clock Heart Pieces are in Duskfade?
The demo teaches a three-piece container. The full campaign hides more pieces; the Gold trophy wants a maxed health bar. Track them on the [collectibles tracker](/tools/collectibles-tracker/) and [heart pieces](/items/heart-pieces/) page.
What should I collect during the story versus after credits?
Grab hearts, shards, and the Tick Town Rainbow Ingot on the road. Leave kittens, Wally, cards, music boxes, and gated ingots until Grapple and Pendulum. See [trophies](/guides/trophies/).
Are Multicoloured Flasks still important after launch?
Yes for [outfits](/guides/outfits/) such as World Hopper. They are dyes, not a substitute for potions or Clock Heart Pieces.
Is there an in-game map for collectibles?
No mini-map. Use landmarks, Cuckoo, the Tick Town teleporter, and this category list. Region names live on [biomes](/world/biomes/).
