Biomes and Regions in Duskfade
Named spokes from Tick Town through Ezarus Forest, the underwater Academy, Lantern Port, and the Clock Tower.
Tearfeld is a clockpunk fantasy shaped by the Master Clockmakers — regions where magic, machinery, and grief share the same skybox of chains. Weird Beluga and Fireshine Games structure the August 13, 2026 campaign as a hub with spokes. You always return to Tick Town after breaking another chain that weakens the Clock Tower. This page names the regions launch coverage actually uses so you can place collectibles and bosses on a mental map. Room labels shift with patches; biome names and ability gates stay stable.
There is no mini-map. If a ledge looks impossible, you probably need a later verb — Grapple, rails, glide, or Pendulum — not a hidden XP level. Order of play lives on the story walkthrough.
Tick Town — the hub that keeps growing
Tick Town is not a pause menu. Vendors, Cloudies, Tailord, the Traveler, and Palette walk back in after you rescue them. The teleporter is the real map. Breaking the Temporal Anchor is Silver We Fixed Time, Right? and permission to leave properly. Twilight Town comparisons for the overworld theme are a running joke because they are accurate. Hub culture: Tick Town and NPCs.
Ezarus Forest — the journey’s real start
Reviewers name Ezarus Forest as the gloomy woods where the adventure stops feeling like a tutorial. Ink-like creatures, canopy paths, and Grapple points you cannot use yet. The free demo’s forest / mine / ruin curriculum still lives here if you played the slice; retail simply keeps walking. Farm early Star Shards from breakables, then stop trying to 100% the canopy before Pendulum.
Clockwork Academy — underwater tool gate
Silver Back to School fires when you find the Clockwork Academy, described across guides as an underwater academy. This is a major tool gate. Near the end of the arc you unlock Pendulum, which smashes the orange crystals that have mocked you since the hub. You also meet Tailord here (Be My Muse!). After Pendulum, smash the crystal under the Hills sign near Tick Town’s teleporter to open his shop. Unlock abilities stays the mechanic reference.
Caves branching off this stretch introduce Arpeggio and the music-box chain. Treat melody icons across gaps as “come back,” not broken quests.
Lantern Port and desert light
Lantern Port is the sun-soaked tropical contrast launch galleries keep screenshotting — vertical cliffs, bright water, delayed collectibles. Desert and canyon spaces around this spoke introduce the mysterious explorer (Don’t Talk to Strangers) and the Canyon granny (A Grandma’s Love). Open sightlines punish standing still more than Ezarus’s gloom does. Ranged packs like the extra space; your dodge roll into a second jump is how you steal their ledges.
Celestial Kingdom, Deepthorne, Chronos Aeternum
Celestial Kingdom / cloud lands host the Father Gorth encounter: rail slides, timed hits, and the campaign’s signature boss trick — a race-against-the-clock platforming stun break between damage windows. GameHype and similar roundups called out this cloud fight specifically.
Deepthorne and Chronos Aeternum appear in collectible roundups as later secret-heavy regions. Press language for volcanic mountains and “lands between space and time” matches these spokes. Befriend N1-C0 when the story presents the robot (You’ve Got a Friend in Me). Do not invent extra continent names beyond what trophies and reviews already printed.
Clock Tower and Despair
When the locks are gone, Bronze We’re Coming for You, Despair marks the Tower doors. Inside: reunion beats with Cuckoo, Gramps and the Veil, the escape with Allira. Optional Bronze Don’t Go There! is a fall from the summit — die on purpose if you want it. This page will not narrate Despair’s last phase; read bosses after you have seen it. Why bosses are emotions: Clock Tower lore.
Demo slice versus retail spokes
The Steam / PS5 / Xbox demo still samples Tick Town, early forest/mine/ruin teaching, and Wrath. It is a vertical slice, not a different planet. Switch 2 owners waiting on the reported August 20 demo can use this page plus launch reviews instead of piracy. Demo saves do not import.
Design philosophy you can play
Handcrafted spaces, secrets off the critical path, combat arenas that reuse traversal gadgets. Collectibles reinforce identity: hearts and Star Cores on mastery ledges, kittens in Tailord’s biomes, Wally in silly corners, Rainbow Ingots on “too far” shelves. Use the tracker when revisiting a spoke after a new verb.
Enemy mixes escalate, but the curriculum stays honest: forest swarms, Academy verticality, port cliffs, cloud rails, Tower scripted spectacle. Temporal Shift practice in early packs still pays on Father Gorth. Single-player; nobody is sharing your teleporter.
